Overcoming the pain

Fibromyalgia symptoms include widespread muscle pain, fatigue, trouble sleeping, and confusion or “brain fog”. The syndrome has no clear medical explanation.

“It’s a bizarre condition,” Thompson said. “There are no tests for it. You’re just miserable. There’s no single therapy for it.”

Thompson said the condition is best managed by “doing the things you ought to do anyway” – regular exercise and a healthy diet. He said after exercising he can function normally for about 30 hours before fibromyalgia symptoms begin to bother him again.
